As the Spring/Summer season comes to a close, it’s time to get all my Autumn/Winter clothes ready, and for me, that literally just means using my whole wardrobe to layer up. More importantly, it means that end of season sale is on! I’m in the process of clearing out my wardrobe in time for going back to University so I’ve been a lot more picky with the clothes I’m buying.
Here’s what I bought:
Off White and Red Stripe Oversized T-Shirt- £5, was £15; find similar here
Blue Oversized Hoodie – £6, was £25; find similar here
Black Panelled Sleeve Track Top – £7.50, was £30; find similar here
Black and White Slub Zip Shirt – £8, was £35; find similar here
All items were bought online and collected in store so there was no delivery charge. All items are now unfortunately out of stock but I’ve included some alternatives.
I can’t seem to stop buying striped clothing – this Topman tee must be the fourth striped item I’ve bought this month! I actually saw this tee in store about a month before I bought it online and fell in love with it. But I prefer online shopping and I hate trying things on in store so I just left it. While browsing their website, I came across it again, and this time, it’s £10 cheaper! I bought this tee in XXS as I already own an oversized tee from Topman and the fit is exactly how I want it. When buying men’s oversized tees, the length is often too long and can pass as a dress, while the shoulders are either cut too short or go way past my elbows. But this tee sits just above my elbows and the length is perfect to layer with a plain jumper or tucked in. I also love the off-white colour as it’s a little bit different to your average striped t-shirt, and it complements the red stripes! For £5, it’s definitely a steal.
What I Would Wear It With: black jeans, white Comme des Garcons Play x Converse high
Most of my wardrobe is very monochrome and I’m comfortable in nude colours. But recently, I was inspired by Magnus Ronning after watching his Youtube video on How To Style: Blue and seeing this Instagram photo. Initially, I was going to cop (buy) the hoodie in XXS like the tee but I decided to go a size up as I like hoodies to fit a bit more oversized on me. What I like about this hoodie, which I didn’t know when I bought it, is that the cuffs and the hem are elasticated! This adds to the oversized look and stacks the sleeves on my short arms. One of the hardest pieces for me to buy is hoodies, simply because I’m not a massive fan of drawstrings – I like them on other pieces but for me, hoodies work better without them, especially pullover ones. The colour of this hoodie is not something I would usually wear but I can’t wait to try outfits with it. It has definitely inspired me to buy more bold-coloured pieces – I’m thinking red or yellow next time! And for £6, I couldn’t resist.
What I Would Wear It With: black pin rolled jeans, Adidas icy blue Stan Smiths
It seems like sportswear, particularly old vintage brands like Fila and Umbro, are coming back to fashion. So, when I found this Topman track jacket, I knew it was a must cop! Of course, the panelled sleeves are my favourite part because how can you go wrong with stripes? I like that there are two white stripes instead of the one that most track jackets have, and the navy in between adds a little contrast to the black. The little details make all the difference in this simple track jacket. I bought this in XS and I probably would’ve gotten away with XXS as the sleeves are a little bit longer than I would like. It’s also part of a co-ord set if you’re into that. £7.50 well spent!
What I Would Wear It With: black joggers, black tee, Adidas Ultraboost in Core Black
Overshirts are probably my favourite item of clothing – I can wear them all year round with just a simple tee in the summer or a hoodie in the winter. This is my second Topman zip shirt and the quality has actually improved from the first one. It is pretty lightweight so it’s perfect for early Autumn days. I bought it in XS so it fits slightly oversized on me. The textured effect of the white lines gives it a more casual look, as I think some overshirts can look a bit too formal. The RRP of this is £35 so I think it’s an absolute steal for £8!
What I Would Wear It With: Dark Grey Overhead Hoodie or black tee, black pin rolled jeans, Vans Old Skools
I’m so happy with all of my pick ups and I might make a post on how I style these so let me know if that’s something you’d want to see!
