My Black Friday Pick Ups!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would’ve been bombarded with emails and signs about #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday deals last weekend. Personally, during Black Friday, I prefer to do my shopping and bargain hunting online – it just saves me time and effort, and it means that I can browse and filter through clothes quite easily. I very rarely buy clothes full price, unless it’s thrifted or a piece that I’ve wanted for a long time (a pair of sneakers, for example), so I always like to take advantage of days like Black Friday. Though I found the sales to be quite weak this year, there were a few standouts:

AllSaints – 30% off everything

AllSole – 30% off

ASOS – 20% off everything

Bershka – selected items up to 50% off

Luisaviaroma – 30% off

Pull&Bear – 20% off

With sales, it’s always so tempting to buy items that you don’t necessarily need. Do you like it or do you like that it’s on sale? This is a question I had to ask myself for everything that I bought this Black Friday weekend, and I think I did well to stick to buying pieces that I’ve wanted to purchase for a while. I took full advantage of the sales to buy things like a new backpack, a wallet, jackets, and a couple of little bits! It’s also worth mentioning that I have had to return a few things due to sizing issues so I’ll only be featuring the ones I’ve decided to keep. So let’s go through some of my pick-ups…

ASOS – 20% off everything including Sale

ASOS is definitely the first website I browse through when I’m looking for a specific item, and more often than not, I find it there. It’s so easy to shop on ASOS because even if your clothes don’t fit, you can return them for free! As well as that, if you sign up to ASOS Premiere Delivery, you can get one year next day delivery for just £9.95 – ASOS calculated that I saved £135 on delivery last year, which is insane. Unfortunately, I’ve had to return a Weekday Zipped Hoodie because of sizing so the search for a zip hoodie continues. If you have any recommendations then I’d appreciate it!

1. ASOS Oversized Vintage Wash Shirt in Orange, XXS – £17.50

For the longest time, I’ve been wanting an orange piece of clothing to add to the small rainbow of colour in my wardrobe, but it’s so hard to get the ‘right’ shade of orange. So when I saw this shirt on ASOS, I instantly fell in love with it! I went for a size XXS in this particular shirt because it’s already a men’s oversized fit so any bigger would’ve looked unflattering on me. I’d recommend staying TTS in usual men’s size, or size down if you don’t want it too oversized.

2. ASOS Leather Wallet in Black With Internal Coin Purse – £12

It’s been a while since I owned a proper wallet and I’m still trying to get used to having everything in one place because normally, I have a card holder and a separate coin purse. Nightmare, I know. Most wallets I’ve seen don’t have a coin purse and let me tell you… that sh*t is so annoying! Why would you have a wallet and not have a coin purse with it?! This is the perfect minimal wallet for anyone looking to replace their current one – it’s simple, lightweight, and a good size! Only time will tell whether the quality is any good but for £12, I really can’t complain.

3. ASOS Backpack in Black Faux Leather With Internal Laptop Pouch – £25

It’s hard to pull the trigger on a backpack because you’re stuck with it for a while until it breaks or you decide you need (want) a new one. I’ve been looking for an all black backpack ever since my current one hit its one year anniversary with me but I haven’t found one that stands out to me. There’s only one thing I want in a backpack, and that’s a laptop pouch – you’ll be surprised at how many don’t have one! If you’re looking for a good sized backpack for a good price, then I’d recommend this particular backpack. ASOS is filled with other brands so you can browse through until you find the one.

Pull and Bear – 20% off Clothes

4. Puffer Jacket – Men’s S, £19.99

Yes, I jumped on the puffer jacket trend. No, I’m not basic. Yes, I am cold. This puffer jacket is definitely going to be my favourite piece this winter, and I’m so excited to see what different fits I can come up with! There are so many different puffer jackets by so many different brands in various colourways and fits, so it’s no surprise that they’re everywhere – I mean everyone and their dog has one! Initially, I wasn’t a big fan of puffer jackets mainly because I’m fivefoottwoandahalf and I didn’t think big jackets would suit me at all. But I’ve been seeing so many other girls rocking them really well and I saw a fitpic of this exact jacket on a guy and fell in love with the colour. At first, I thought there was no way this was going to fit me in a men’s Small (it was the smallest size available online) but it’s a comfortable fit. Pull&Bear have this jacket in other colourways so I’d recommend copping them and staying TTS.

Topman – up to 50% off selected items

5. Red Check Borg Jacket – Men’s XXS, £25

It is definitely the season for flannels, tartan, and checked shirts/coats/jackets, and I have been on the biggest hunt for the perfect one. I’ve gone through so many vintage stores, charity shops, and online website, and this is the only one that has tickled my fancy! This is Topman’s Red Check Borg Jacket in a size XXS. I’m usually an XXS in Topman and I’m so glad that I stuck to it with this jacket – the fit of it is a nice oversized so I can layer it with a plain jumper or hoodie, though the length of the sleeve is a bit too long but it’s expected because it’s menswear. I just love the red and black checked pattern of this jacket and I think it’ll go very nicely with a lot of the pieces in my wardrobe.

Schuh – 20% off

6. Nike Air Force 1, Triple White – Youth UK 3, £45

I’ve mentioned this pair in a blogpost before but in the triple black colourway and I decided not to keep it. However, the Triple White colourway has increasingly grown on me over the last few weeks and Black Friday was the perfect excuse to buy a pair. I’ve been inspired by so many different fits with the AF1s so I’m excited to see how well they fit with my wardrobe. I got the triple black in a Youth Size 4 so I sized down on this pair and they’re the perfect fit. These shoes will definitely be my new beaters, and as you can see, I haven’t been able to take them off!

AllSole – 30% off

7. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi, Black – UK 3, £38.50

I know what you’re all thinking… “Why do you not already have a pair of these?” To answer your question, I have a pair in all black that I literally only wear for work and should probably wear more often. Recently I’ve been loving the more classic silhouettes of the Chuck Taylor, Sk8-Hi, and the Air Force 1, so I kept it nice and simple with the black and white colourway. Again, I feel like I’ll get a lot of wear with this pair so for £38.50, I can’t complain.
