Top: Urban Outfitters
Sneakers: Adidas NMD R2
This outfit is actually from a couple of months ago, but I think it’s an appropriate outfit to start off with. Yes, I know what you’re thinking: the British weather allowed me to wear joggers AND a raincoat in the middle of Summer! Are you even surprised?
The top I’m wearing is a men’s ribbed long-sleeve tee from Urban Outfitters in a size Small – I managed to get it from the Brighton store, which is rare for me because I do most of my shopping online. For me, the colour and fit of this tee are perfect. I’ve been really into pink this Spring/Summer season and one thing I find really difficult is getting the right shade of pink. I wouldn’t say this is the “perfect pink” or what I like to call “Coeli pink” but it’s definitely close to it! In this fit, I’ve kept it simple and just paired it with a black raincoat.
One of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe is this Pull&Bear Men’s Raincoat. I also bought this in store in a size Small, although there wasn’t much of a difference between Small and Medium. This is actually the first raincoat I’ve ever owned and I’m surprised at how versatile it is! It’s fairly thin and very light so you can wear it in Spring/Summer – I actually wore it to Wild Life Festival this year. In this outfit, I’m wearing it with a long-sleeve tee with a curved hem – the length of the jacket is perfect for layering, so you can wear it with a simple short sleeve tee, or even a jumper.
The H&M joggers are probably one of my most worn pieces – they’re comfortable, versatile, and they fit great! Trousers are the hardest things for me to buy because I’m fivefoottwoandahalf so I’m way too short for basically everything. Having said that, I bought these joggers in a size Small and they fit perfectly. They’ve got a dropped crotch, long drawstrings, and they stack great at the ankles so these have become a staple in my wardrobe. And what’s more, you can never go wrong with joggers and sneakers!
Since the start of University, I’ve bought a fair few pairs of sneakers. But this pair was actually given to me by my Aunt as a gift. These are the NMD R2 Black Primeknit, with the dark grey detailing to contrast the black base. My favourite is probably the pink detail – Adidas got “Coeli Pink” absolutely bang on with these NMDs! These are a Size 4, which is my true size in NMDs, and with the Primeknit design, they fit like a sock and the boost technology ensures that I’m walking on clouds everywhere I go.
I usually choose my outfit from bottom to top, starting with my sneakers. I was so excited to un-DS (DS means Dead Stock – an item that hasn’t been worn yet, so un-DS-ing an item means wearing it for the first time) the NMD R2s so I wanted to plan my outfit around them. The curved hem of the long sleeve top goes so well with the dropped crotch of the joggers, making sure that the top doesn’t seem too long on me. I actually prefer this outfit with the raincoat, even though I only wore it because of the weather. The grey detailing of the zip pairs perfectly with the NMD R2s.
